Klipsch Pro-200A Power Amp $750 (80×2 or 200 mono; 5.5h, 5.69w, 12.75d)

Klipsch is now shipping Pro-200A. The Pro-200A is a solid power amp to run with any speakers, but please consider Klipsch speakers as they’re designed to work together.
Pro-200A is an AB amp with discrete, high current output transistors. The heat sinks are extensive, not flimsy. Pro-200A has an overload protection circuit in case you party a bit too much. It has a thick, muscular sound in the bass. We’ve already paired it with Forte 3 and clearly they like each other. Pro-200A leans warmer than brighter.
What’s nice about the Pro-200A is, you can spend the mother lode on the most important part of your system, speakers, and drive them with this affordable companion amp.
If you’ve read carefully, you can see Pro-200A gives you an upgrade path as well. You can buy a second Pro-200A and run them bridged. The wattage rating says 200w mono. It sounds dramatically stronger than that. I think K is being overly conservative on it specs here. I love the idea of buying one now, and a second later- to turn your sedan into a sports car!
Pro-200A has a few nice features as well.
It has a volume control on its face, so it can interface with any number of preamps, preamp processors, and speakers.
Since it can be run stereo or mono, again, your stereo and theater options are “endless.”
It has gold plated inputs and outputs, so you can daisy chain if you choose to.

Klipsch The One $300 (6.125h, 12.67w, 5.25d)

This table music system sounds conspicuously robust for only three bills. With Bluetooth and mini jack input, you’ll run music from your phone , tablet or even CD player into The One. It looks vintage with real wood and classic grill cloth design. It sounds as good as it looks, meaning, nothing like the skinny plastic guys you see at big box.
The One runs two 2 1/4” full range drivers with a dedicated 4.5” subwoofer. It has a 30w amp.
The One has a rechargeable battery that can run 8 hours, hence you can carry it around the house with you.
Looks great. Sounds great. And it’s portable. What’s not to like?

NAD C-165BEE Stereo Preamp $1000 (3 15/16h, 17 1/8w, 12.5d)

We welcome this classic looking analog preamp for only a grand! It looks pretty plain in
cosmetics, but that’s one of the things we love about NAD. C-165BEE is a new design from Bjorn Erik Edvardsen. With edge of the art semiconductors this preamp will rival the big boys at a fraction of the price. It’s a pure analog, no gimmick piece. Its sonic flavor is robust and dynamic.
Inputs include MM/MC with adjust able loading. CD, Tuner, MP, Aux & Two full tape loops. Outs included Sub Out and Two Pre Outs, one fixed and one variable.
It comes with remote and has bass, treble & balance controls. It has a very high quality headphone amp with quarter inch jack.

Now On Display! Klipschorn AK-6, $15,000 Per Pair

Take a look!

Marantz Reference Series

Marantz Reference Series products have always been among the finest products you can buy.
They have been designed by Marantz’s renowned engineer, Ken Ishiwata. Ken has just created a new integrated amp and SACD/CD player dubbed KI RUBY series to mark his 40th anniversary with Marantz.

Ken is all about making great sound with a zero noise floor. The Marantz Ref gear sounds great with any speakers, but is a conspicuously strong choice with high efficiency speakers (like Klipsch) that are quite revealing. High efficiency speakers show reveal a high noise floor in electronics. Marantz Reference passes with flying colors!

Marantz PM-KI Ruby Integrated Amp: $4000 (100×2)

If you don’t look past the wattage rating of 100×2 for $4k, you’ll miss the boat. For example, this guy uses two power supplies, one for preamp section and one for the amp section.
It’s an all analog piece that supports MM&MC. With unique phono circuit and HDAM technology,
an Ishiwata classic design, the refinement of the Ref Series is as good as the best gear available!
Its sonic character is uber quiet, clean and controlled. It’s not fat in the bass or harsh on top. In other words, it’s quite a chameleon for your sources and controls your speakers like a vice grip.
Hence not only is the integrated great for high efficiency speakers, it is a GREAT choice for
speakers that sound a bit murky or sluggish. Take ALL speakers with a pile of drivers in them
and a complex crossover. They benefit from loads of current and control. PM-KI Ruby will tighten up the stand up bass or lower register of a piano- instead of letting it flap around in the breeze!

Marantz SA-KI Ruby SACD/CD Player: $4000

The Ruby disc player uses Ken’s Marantz Music Mastering Technology, previously only available on SA-10 ($7000)! It doesn’t use a DAC chip, which would impart a particular signature of sound.

MMM upsamples to DSD and runs analog out to your preamp WITHOUT the use of a DAC chip, that virtually everyone else uses. This design, combined with a hundred other sage parts’ choices, puts the Ruby disc player in the highest echelon of disc players on the market!

The music takes on more “immediacy.” Tracks sound more like master tapes than produced
commercial albums. Only SA-10 does it better, and it runs $7k.

Elac Debut Series 2.0 Speakers

Debut 2 series B6.2

Elac has improved its highly esteemed Debut Series of speakers, hence the 2.0 designation.
The sonic improvement is, the 2.0’s are cleaner in the mids and bass in particular. The silk tweeter is
a bit more extended on top as well. We are delighted by ANY of improvement at this scurrilously low price range!

George Szell: “Mr Cyclops”

Iconic Canadian pianist, Glenn Gould, was no fan of Cleveland’s conductor George Szell. Neither was “anyone” else.
Szell was known for being a tyrannical bully. In his first year with the orchestra he fired 12 of the 94 members of the symphony. Szell literally sneered at his charges through Coke bottle glasses. Gould gave him the above “title” which other musicians felt- was right on the money!
