Oscar & Kareem, Molitor & Yount, Spahn & Uecker… These, are some of Milwaukee’s best pairings. Let’s add a new one. Klipsch and Marantz.
The Klipsch Heritage line of speakers, made in Arkansas, blends high efficiency and impact to bring the excitement of live music to your living room. However, if you have generic or noisy electronics, you’ll hear hiss and hum that will spoil the experience. By the way, there are plenty of expensive NOISY electronics. Hiss and hum don’t belong in your living room’s musical personality.
Enter the Marantz Model 30 Integrated amp. At $3000 and 100×2, Model 30 is an exquisite integrated to run with the Ks- and of course most other speakers too.
In addition to having a dead silent noise floor, Model 30 has a mellow musical timbre that doesn’t bite. Model 30 is great with neutral speakers like the Amphion family. But to be fair, the Amphions work well with a wide variety of amps due to their sanguine personality. It’s more challenging to mate an integrated to the Klipsch family and derive pastoral results.
Model 30 is a full analog piece- no DAC on board. Its phono section is uber serious and supports MM & MC with outboard phono preamp quality. The phono section is a separate board within its own mu metal enclosure in Model 30. The preamp section features discrete FET design. The amp section uses Hypex computer controlled modules vs traditional mismatched output transistors- which invariably sound grainy with Klipsch.
While many audiophiles talk about Klipsch and tubes, it isn’t easy to find a tube amp that doesn’t hiss like a snake through the sensitive and revealing Heritage models. My anodyne alternative is the lovely Marantz Model 30, where you’ll get the beauty, without the noisy artifacts that aren’t part of the music itself.
We invite you to visit to experience the Model 30’s DEAD SILENT noise floor and effulgent personality with any of the dynamic Klipsch Heritage speakers- or numerous others we have in house.
