Isotek Elektra V5 Mains Conditioner $2000

Isotek has taught us that Mains Conditioners absolutely, positively, need be an integral part of your system because they IMPROVE your sound! We can measure it with our meter. More importantly, we can hear the improvement through even a mid level audio system.

We’re at the point in the hi-fi world today, that if you DON’T have a great conditioner to start your chain of gear, you’re losing information that you CAN’T retrieve later.

The moral of the story is, make sure your system has a fine mains conditioner- like Elektra. It’s the best buy in a mains conditioner in our biz! You can spend more and be hard pressed to hear any improvement. If you spend less, you will be listening through some haze.

Dusty Sound?

Think of looking through a window with a hint of dust on it. Clean the dust off. That’s what a great conditioner will do for your music. It has a deft touch at revealing the transient information of a drum kit, guitar or piano and delivers more expressive human voices.

Improved transient attack equates to looking at a tree and noticing the fine detail of the leaves. Without a great conditioner you can see the tree and the leaves, but not the exquisite focus that an Isotek Elektra can reveal.

Isotek

We have chosen to do biz with Isotek. It’s an English company run by owner/operator Keith Martin. Isotek isn’t a design team that vendors cheap boxes from China. Keith designs in the UK and builds his gear in HIS factory in Slovenia, where pricing is reasonable and he has total control of what goes out the door.

Up until about 2014, every conditioner I ever auditioned actually HURT the sound. Company after company, Monster, Furman, Panamax, APC etc, knocked on our door and promised their conditioners would help the sound and provide protection. They may have provided protection, but there’s no doubt their insertion put another layer of grill cloth on your speakers.

Several companies offered “regenerators.” They also made the sound worse and current limited in the process, despite their techno babble.

Isotek has proven that WITHOUT A DOUBT your music is veiled if you’re not using a top level mains conditioner. Please don’t ignore this vital cleansing process when making music.

Do you remember when we had snow in our analog TV reception? That is exactly what is happening with the AC sludge coming into your hi-fi gear. Isotek will remove the snow so you can hear resolution in the music that would otherwise be obfuscated by the line hash.

Elektra

Elektra is Isotek’s new $2000 product entry. It is an attractive looking component that logically sits at the bottom of your equipment stand. It has six outlets. Two are high current for integrated amps or power amps. Four are lower current for other components.

There is an isolating filter for EACH of the six taps. Consequently there is no back wash among the products plugged into Elektra. Each component is immune from the debris of the wall and any back splashing companions.

Listening with Elektra vs without, you’ll hear faster transient response. You’ll hear more delineated percussive action and micro dynamics. You’ll hear a deeper, wider soundstage. Elektra brings you clarity and emotion in your music that you’ll miss- if you don’t have it.

Isotek upgraded Aquarius to V5. It’s a fantastic conditioner that we highly recommend it for $3k. Yet if you’re not up for $3k, you’ll find Elektra will make a significant improvement in your music system for a grand less. And yes, Elektra is a smidge better than the prior version of Aquarius.

The Other Guys

For the record, we’re not saying that there are no decent competitors. There are a number of respectable options out there in today’s market. But what you’ll find, as we have, is that Elektra’s serious competition runs well over $2k and does NOT even include a power cable! Elektra comes with an Isotek Initium cable which sells for $175 a la carte. Not only are the other guys double the price- you’ll have to find another couple bills to buy the power cable to plug it in.

If you invest in an Isotek conditioner, we suggest you upgrade your power cords to Initiums in the process. Without the conditioner, there’s no reason to improve your cables because you have snow on the road.

Since Elektra comes with an Initium, it makes sense to upgrade your electronics with Initiums running into Electra. They run $175 each and will provide an audible improvement. If you don’t get an Elektra, there’s no reason to buy fancy power cables to plug into the wall or your Home Depot bar.
