If you want great TV sound, do not buy a sound bar. Your doorbell likely has better speakers with stronger magnets. Let’s do it right.
You don’t even have to do surround sound. Stereo works magnificently.
Start with Bryston speakers. They’re magnificently articulate without being the least bit harsh or grating.
In short, Bryston pays attention to all the minute details of how to construct loudspeakers- with a fervor you can’t get from mass produced products.
Bryston speakers are made in Canada with a TLC you simply don’t get out of a mass production house from the far east. Bryston costs a bit more than a flimsy, ringing Chinese box.
But the extra expense is worth it.
Think of how much time you spend watching your new flat screen TV. The excellence of today’s panels and the wide array of quality content we have available- just screams to be accompanied by crystal clear aural ecstasy!
Watching concerts via YouTube alone justifies upgrading your TV’s sound system.
Bryston sounds more detailed, with less harshness, than THE OTHER GUYS. Mass produced speakers yield a blaring/ringy sound that will wear you out.
You’re invariably within the listening sweet spot with Bryston. You hear the dialog or musical content more purely than if the speakers were blasting off the ceiling, floor and side walls. Every other speaker out there is making you hear room reflections which muffle performance.
Brystons produce dialog that is better delineated than a soggy sound bar. There are a hundred and one choices Bryston makes in its designs to achieve this.
Brystons use cast frame drivers built in their own shop in Canada. They make their own Titanium tweeters. These parts are not purchased from a vendor. They’re made in house to a rigid standard.
The crossovers use expensive film caps and silver coated copper wire to assure the best definition. Bryston crossovers are vital to revealing clear dialog and exceptional detail.
The speaker cabinets are comprised of dense Canadian Rangerwood cut with CNC machinery- to create a solid housing for the speaker components. The cabinets are internally braced to eliminate extraneous resonance. Any extra vibrations from the cabinet walls steal perspicuity from your sound. Ultimately, Brystons are special because they pay attention to every aspect of the speaker’s design.
Both are 8 ohms, available in black ash, walnut or Boston cherry. We typically stock black with its lovely wood grain finish.

Atoll IN50 Integrated Amplifier $1500 (50×2)
IN50 has a built in DAC to shake hands with your TV, Cable Box or Streaming box. It has OPT and Coax, as well as analog inputs. IN50 uses a huge, 170VA toroidal transformer, big power supply caps and MATCHED MOSFET output transistors to deliver a fuller, warmer sound than any main stream alternative out there.
Atoll is built in its own factory in France- not some job house from China. Atoll has a 3 year warranty. The sound is warm with a good sized bass kick.
No Soundbar!
If you buy a “good” soundbar (oxymoron by the way!) you’ll spend about a grand. The sound will be louder than the speakers in your TV, but just as murky.
Please consider buying a set of Brystons with an Atoll amp. You likely watch hours of TV every day. My audio solution will pay off for fun streaming programs- or even sports and talk shows.
