Amphion’s Krypton 3X is among the most well balanced, lovely sounding speakers on the market. Its image is immense. It never sounds like it’s working hard. It’s just coasting.
K3X uses Amphion’s Titanium tweeter in its Wave Guide configuration. It produces an open, airy top end without a hint of bite or sizzle.
K3X uses a pair of 8” Pulp Papyrus front firing mids in D’Appolito config around the tweeter. Each 8 is housed within its own chamber, which has holes on the side of the cabinet to eschew any boxy influence.
K3X uses a 10” side firing, linear-piston Aluminum driver to move your foundation. Amphion crossover points are 160Hz and 1.6k. The blending among these drivers is an artistic triumph.
Amphion has built K3X to work in real world listening rooms. It produces a cardiod wave of dispersion so you hear the speaker instead of the REFLECTED sound of the speaker, off your walls, ceiling and floor. You’re virtually always in the sweet spot. Consequently K3X works in rooms of very modest size- and large rooms as well. Remember, these are designed and built in Finland. Nobody there has a living room like you do.
